Juan Antonio Chavez left this world to be with the Lord on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. in Memphis, Tennessee. Juan Antonio was born in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas on June 14, 1957, son of Cesario and Jovita Chavez.
A remarkable man with a kind and generous spirit, Juan Antonio touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He lived simply but gave abundantly, always putting others before himself. His heart was in his work, but even more so in the people around him. He spent most of his life in Tennessee, dedicating himself to his craft and those he loved.
His family is eternally grateful to the doctors and nurses who worked tirelessly to save him, offering compassion and kindness that brought peace to their hearts. Juan Antonio will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, strength, and kindness will live on through his family and all who were fortunate to know him. We thank God for his peaceful farewell.
He is survived by his loving children: Juan Antonio Chavez Jr. (Marisella Hernandez), Diana Chavez (Rudy Velasquez), Sonia Diaz (Daniel Diaz), Julio Cesar Chavez (Karla Chavez), Cynthia Chavez (Jaime Rodriguez), His beloved grandchildren: Andrew Chavez, Audrey Chavez, Jacob Ray Leyva, Elyse Alexandria Velasquez, Mason Ray Villarreal, Ehlani Rae Rodriguez, Sebastian Chavez, Daniel Diaz Jr. Daniela Abigail Diaz.
Juan Antonio is preceded in death by his mother, Jovita Chavez; father, Cesario Chavez; and brother, Jesus Chavez.
He found joy in his children, grandchildren, and, of course, in his love for music. His most prized possession was his speaker—he could listen to it endlessly.
Dad, we miss you dearly. Your love will always be with us.
