Eligio Mendez Cardona

Eligio Mendez Cardona,64, left to be with the Lord on Monday, November 11, 2024 at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco. He was born to Jose Mendez and Francisca Cardona on December 1, 1959 in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Eligio loved to preach the word of God and bring others to Christ by sharing his testimony. He enjoyed fishing, reading the Bible and traveling but most of all, he cherished the moments he got to share surrounded by his family. Eligio will be remembered for being friendly and generous. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Esperanza Mendez and their children: Tamara (Miguel) De Los Santos, Jose (Raquel) Mendez, Juan (Iliana) Mendez and Alma (Samuel) Romo. He will also be greatly missed by his beloved 12 grandchildren. Family will receive friends at Templo Fe de Salvacion in Weslaco on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 9 am to 9 pm with a prayer service held at 7 pm. Funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 1 pm at Templo Fe de Salvacion in Weslaco followed by the interment at Sacred Park Cemetery in Mercedes.
