Left to cherish his memory are his children Faustino (Christina) Peña and Maria del Carmen Carreño and his grandchildren Michael Damian Peña, Gabriel Dillon Peña, Rafael Diego Peña, Jasmine Nicole Peña and Kaitlyn Rose Peña. He also leaves behind his siblings Sergio Carreño, Oliverio Carreño, Olga Figueroa, Gustavo Carreño and Adelina Carreño
He is now reunited with his beloved wife Guadalupe Carreño, his son Jose Luis Carreño, his brother Manuel Carreño and his sister Romelia Pacheco.

A funeral mass will occur Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM at San Martin de Porres, 901 N Texas Blvd, Weslaco, TX 78596. An interment will occur Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park, 6705 N. FM 88, Weslaco, TX 78599.
