Nolan Abshire

He was born March 12, 1951, to parents Adonise and Ozet Abshire, in Lake Charles at Chennault Air Base.

Nolan worked as a truck driver for most of his life. He was a loving father and loved spending time outdoors with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; foster parents, Robert and Daniel Sonnier of Elton, LA; daughter, Katie Guillory; two grandchildren, Khristen Abshire and Byran McClelland; as well as several siblings.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Nelda Abshire; daughters, Nancy Guillory and Tammy McClelland(Anthony Benoit); sons, Tim Abshire(Michelle), and Roland Abshire(Sarah); grandson, Timothy McClelland; and Godson, Bobby Abshire(Tammy).

The family would like to thank Golden Age of Welsh for their compassionate care of Nolan in his final days.

A visitation for Nolan will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hixson Welsh, 412 East South Street, Welsh, LA 70591. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm.

A funeral service will begin Monday, October 14, 2024, from 9 am until the time of service at 1 pm, at the Hixson Welsh Chapel with services to be officiated by Pastor Geroge Rodriguez.

A graveside service will be held following services at Sonnier cemetery in Oberlin, LA.
