Don P. Eaton died at home on Saturday March 24, 2018, after a long illness. His wife Suzi was by his side.
Paul was born on July 9, 1947 in Boston, MA, and raised in South Wellfleet. He was the son of the late Shirley T. Blakeley of Wellfleet, and the late Donald Eaton of Leominster, MA.
Paul spent his younger years in South Wellfleet at the family home on Lecount Hollow Road. He joined the Navy Seabees right out of high school, proudly serving his country for two tours of duty in Vietnam from 1967- 1971. He built roads and bridges as a heavy machinery operator during his service.
Paul worked for many years at Cape Cod National Seashore, starting as a heavy machinery operator, retiring after 19 years as a Facility Management Specialist.
Paul was a proud Life Member of the Harley Owners Group of Pocasset, MA. He enjoyed many rides and gatherings with the group, and with Suzi right behind him.
Paul is survived by his brother, Mark Eaton (Patti Eaton) of Lancaster, MA; sisters, Thelma Blakeley (Mick Lynch) of South Wellfleet; Cynthia Blakeley (Allen Tullos) of Atlanta, GA; Elizabeth Duquette (Donald Duquette) of Centerville, MA and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Paul is predeceased by his mother, Shirley Blakeley, his father Don Eaton, brother David Eaton, and sister Ruthanne Wyman.
Calling hours will be on Thursday April 5, 2018 from 5 pm – 7pm at Nickerson Funeral Home, 340 Main Street, Wellfleet, MA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Paul Eaton to: Cape and Island Veterans Outreach Center, Food Pantry Donations, 247 Stevens Street, Suite E, Hyannis, MA 02601.
A celebration of Paul’s life with family and close friends will be held at a later date.
