Molly Mae Benjamin passed away unexpectedly February 1st. She was 52 years old, daughter of Bonnie “Benjy” Benjamin, a well-known fisherman and writer for the Cape Cod Times. Molly graduated in 1989 from Provincetown High School. She was class president, yearbook editor and played many different sports. After graduation, she attended University of Vermont, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Biology. After college, she traveled across the country and moved to California where she lived for several years until she returned home to Wellfleet and reconnected with her high school sweetheart. A couple years later Coty entered the world blessing his mom and dad. Molly was as well known in Provincetown as her mom was. She had a powerful personality that drew everyone in. Her laugh was one of a kind and could be heard for miles. She had a huge heart full of love and joy. Molly loved the outdoors, going for walks at Beech Forest, or spending days at The West End Beach or Herring Cove. She took many trips with her son and friends. She often said, “It takes a village”. Molly was a community person; she would help anyone however she could. She would be happy to see that at this time our village of Ptown has been so caring and supportive and gone above and beyond in this tragic time. Molly would be happy to know her “village” is supporting her son in every way imaginable. Molly was predeceased by her mother Bonnie “Benjy” Benjamin, her father Roger Dorris, Coty’s father Scott Carreiro and his parents Jerry and Joyce Carreiro. She is survived by her son Coty Carreiro and her Uncle Randy Benjamin of Colorado.
Memorial for Molly Benjamin will be determined at a later date.
An Angel Fund has been set up through Ever Loved to help pay for funeral costs and any excess to pay for unforeseen medical bills etc. so the burden doesn't fall on her son Coty. A link to the Ever Loved Fund can be found below or by clicking on: https://everloved.com/life-of/molly-benjamin/. Thank you so much to everyone in advance for your loving support and donations.
We miss you Molly.
