Cape Cod Hospital on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
He was born on January 7, 1955, at the same hospital where he passed. He was raised in Provincetown, son of John Lambrou Jr. and Mary (Silva) Lambrou. He graduated Provincetown High School in 1974 and attended trade school. Mark served as a volunteer firefighter for the Provincetown Fire Department for 49 years alongside some of his closest friends.
Mark started a career with Cape Cod Oil in 1974, the same year the company was purchased by Micheal and Halcyone Tasha. The relationship with Mike would last for 40 years and continued with Halcyone until Mark officially retired in 2018. His dedication to the company was obvious to anyone who knew him. Mark’s greatest quality was his kindness. The countless stories of people he helped or relationships that he built are immeasurable.
Above all else Mark’s loyalty was to his family and close friends. Mark married his high school sweetheart and love of his life Cynthia (Roderick) Lambrou in 1977, and the two would remain inseparable for the next 47 years. Mark cherished and adored his wife, Cindy. She will miss his strength, protection and devotion to family. Mark was extremely proud of his two boys Lucas and Trevor, and daughter in-law Jessica, who he would talk about frequently. Lucas and Trevor were extremely proud of their dad and admired him on so many levels.
Mark enjoyed vacationing with his family and close friends. He loved to laugh but more importantly he loved making others laugh. There was almost nothing he wouldn’t do to make someone smile. After his retirement you could easily find him riding through town with his dog Kita, who was an absolute blessing to him. His Kita dog kept him moving and interacted with just as many people as he did. The two seemed inseparable.
He loved his life, he loved his family, he loved his friends. Mark lived life on his terms. Although he will be missed, we are all grateful to have known such a fine, generous, compassionate and funny man. He touched many lives and will be forever remembered as a legacy and pillar of the community.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Cindy; his son, Lucas and his wife Jessica Lambrou; son Trevor Lambrou; his mother Mary Lambrou who he loved dearly; sister Stacey and her husband Al Desrosiers; sister Terri Lambrou; brother Jon Lee Lambrou; sister Jill Lambrou; brother Paul Lambrou; mother in-law Regina Costa; brother in-law John and his wife Patricia Roderick; brother in-law Ryan and his wife Christine Roderick; sister in-law Jean Leonard; sister-in-law Claudia Hopkins; 12 nieces and nephews.
Mark is proceeded in death by his father John Lambrou, Jr; father in-law Mylan Costa; brother-in-law Kevin Roderick; brother in-law Craig Hopkins; little angel Gabrielle Okerman.
