She Born Nov 5, 1930 in Rosser, Kaufman County, Texas to Tommie and Lora Speck. The family soon moved to Ennis where she was raised and graduated from high school. Lorene retired from Phillips Chemical Company in Pasadena and Clear Lake, Texas after 35 dedicated years-most of those years spent in Accounting. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas and life member of Eastern Star Winnie Chapter of Ennis, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her husband of forty years Eugene Venable, parents, sister Nita Venable, and brother W. T. “Boy” Speck. She is survived by, and will be dearly missed by her daughter Jean Aynn Tice (and husband Andy) of The Woodlands; granddaughter Lauren Amber Prestenbach (and Cole Jacobsen) of Lakewood, Colorado; granddaughter Chelsea Dyan Lovelace (and husband Bill), great granddaughter Tristan Olivia Lovelace of Castle Rock, Colorado; brother-in-law Wes Venable of Pasadena, Texas; son-in-law and father of her wonderful granddaughters, Ken Prestenbach of Caldwell, Texas; along with numerous fabulous and talented nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Lorene lived a full life and her best times were spent with family and playing bridge with friends. She was generous, loving and kind-hearted. She was a 20+year breast cancer survivor, then fought valiantly the COPD that consumed her lungs and eventually took her from us. If she had one regret in her life, it was picking up and smoking that first cigarette.
The family would like to acknowledge those who have communicated their sympathies and kind thoughts and thank the care givers at The Village at the Woodlands Waterway for their compassion and tenderness in caring for Mother and Nana. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to Family Promise of Montgomery County http://www.familypromiseofmc.org , a Christian-based ministry assisting and feeding homeless families with children or The Breast Cancer Charity https://donate.thebreastcancercharities.org/venable
