Tamara R. West

Tamara Renée West, 56, of Friendswood, Texas, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2019. She was born in Jacksonville, Arkansas on Sunday, November 18, 1962, to Juan Bautista Gonzalez and Laurel Candace Guice.

She was married to Tony Edward West for 32 years. Tammy worked for NASA at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas for over 36 years. She was the Astronaut Crew Secretary for 25 years and finished her career as an Executive Assistant for the Director of the Johnson Space Center. Tammy had a passion for spending time and adventures with her family. She was also an avid reader, gardener, lover of anything “Hallmark,” decorating and the joy of Christmas time and spoiling her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Laurel Candace Guice and her mother-in-law Patricia Ann Carriker. She is survived by her husband, Tony Edward West, daughter Jennifer Lynn Perrill and husband Mike Perrill, daughter Stephanie Elizabeth West, grandson Gabriel River Perrill, granddaughter Olivia Renée Perrill, her father Juan Bautista Gonzalez and wife Karen Myrtis Gonzalez, brother, Johnny Desmond Gonzalez and wife Trina Chisholm Gonzalez, her sister River Candace Michaels and wife Laura Renée Michaels.
