Suzanne C, Gosset, 91, of Nassau Bay, Texas, passed away on September 2, 2023. She was born in Los Angeles, California on September 23, 1931 to Calvin E Cox and Violet Fournier Cox. She spent most of her childhood in Luddington, Michigan, then moved to Texas in 1948.
She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated from University of Houston at Clear Lake. She was a lifelong learner, avid traveler, wildlife enthusiast, pet lover and capable first mate to her husband Jack aboard their offshore sailing vessel Sutsus. A long-time member of the World Wildlife Fund she traveled to see the wolves of Yellowstone National Park and polar bears in Churchill, Manitoba. She was the breeder and owner of Cause Im Better, TQHA & USEF 2002 Horse of the Year, Hunter Breeding & Pin Oaks Charity Horse Show Champion. Her civic activities focused on volunteering with the Nassau Bay Garden Club for many years and monitoring Nassau Bay City Council meetings. She enjoyed attending continuing education and other events at UHCLC, performances by the Houston Symphony and productions of the Pasadena Little Theater.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack T. Gossett, brothers Calvin and Robert Cox and grandson Rapeepong “Tyler” Gossett.
She is survived by children Candace and Jimmie Don Hoke, Brian and Deanna Mueller and Pat and Anyanist Gossett, grandchildren Colter and Britney Chapman and Michelle McNeese and great-grandchildren Cadence Chapman, Payton Rendon, Paris Rendon, Jayden Mueller, and Lucas McNeese.
