Susan Roberts Allison

Susan Roberts Allison, 82, of Houston passed away on June 05, 2023. She was born in Frankfort, Kentucky in 1940 to James O. Roberts, Jr, and Mary Blair McGrath Roberts. She graduated from the University of Kentucky where she met her husband, James Allison. She was a passionate volunteer activist, beginning with the Civil Rights movement and continuing into local politics. She was a long-time leader in vetting candidates for local office, helping determine which candidates received endorsements, and organizing voter registration drives. She made many lifelong friends through her political activities, and she will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Allison of Houston, sister Anne Cecil of Louisville Kentucky, and son John Allison of Orange County Texas.

She is survived by daughter Anne Kim of League City Texas, grandson Stephen Kim of Tucson Arizona, granddaughter Rebecca Kim of League City Texas, and brother-in-law Joseph Cecil of Louisville Kentucky. She is also survived by additional grandchildren from the son who predeceased her, who were unfortunately estranged some years ago. Her closest associate of many years, David Jones of Houston, has been of inestimable value both to Susan and to the family, and the family joins Susan in expressing our deepest appreciation for his friendship through the years.
