Priscilla Aileen “Pat” Standley Richardson passed away on November 16, 2017. She was born in Helmic, Texas on April 24, 1923 to Grover Cleveland Standley and Mollie Bertha Breeze Standley. She grew up in the Alabama Creek community near Apple Springs, Texas. It was at Centerville High School that she met the love of her life, Cecil Burnett Richardson. They were married on March 1, 1946 after Cecil returned from his service in the Army during World War II. Their marriage lasted 57 years until Cecil’s death on June 9, 2003.
During World War II, Pat was a telephone operator for the Phone Company and Ingersoll Rand Company in Houston. After raising her family, she returned to work at Beall’s Department Store at Almeda Mall and retired in 1988.
Pat loved her family and making everyone feel welcome at her home. Sports were her favorite past time and she was thrilled that she was able to see the Astros win the World Series. She was a long-time member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church and attended United Methodist Women events for many years. She was a wonderful cook and homemaker for her family and was loved by all. Pat also was a member of the Red Hats and enjoyed their meetings and luncheons for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed creating beautiful pictures in adult coloring books.
Pat was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her son, Kenneth Wane Richardson and her brothers James Standley, Olney Standley and her sister Mollie Lucille Sullivan. She is survived by her children, Jan Jobe (Madison) of Carrollton, Texas and Keith Richardson of Friendswood, a sister, Betty Trevathan of Houston and a brother, Donald Standley of Jacksonville, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the loving Grandmother (Mimi) of Jennifer Krupa (Nicholas), Joanne Kopeny (Patrick), Silver Richardson, Christopher Richardson, Meagan Richardson, Michael Richardson (Madyson), Amber Jobe (Kris) and James Jobe.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505 under the direction of Forest Park East, Webster, Texas. Interment to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas.
