Octaviano Herrera, 86, of Pasadena, Texas passed away on October 3, 2024. He was born in Fashing, Texas on March 22, 1938, to Petronilo Herrera and Andrea Morones Herrera. He was married to Dorotea Cerda Herrera for 65 years. Octaviano had a career in building and constructing Terrazzo and specialized in ceramic tile design. He did contract work for Pappas’ Restaurants. He had a passion for gardening, construction design, and telling stories of his life at the rancho.
He was preceded in death by wife Dorotea Herrera, daughters Adelina Garcia and Christine Rodriguez, and grandson Andrew Paul Salcido.
He is survived by children Belinda Purdy, Toby Herrera, and Cynthia Herrera; siblings Herminia Riojas, Mary and Gilbert Cortez, and Sylvia Herrera; 12 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation for Octaviano will be held Monday, October 7, 2024 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with a funeral service to start at 2:30 p.m. and a committal to follow. All services will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, located at 21620 Gulf Freeway in Webster, Texas.
