Norma Hays Brady, 91, was welcomed into heaven by the Lord and many beloved family members on February 22, 2017. She was born on November 20, 1925 in Springfield Pennsylvania. She and her family arrived in Houston in 1962 when her first husband Ted Hays began working at the Johnson Space Center. After his death she married Aubrey Brady, also a devoted member of the NASA organization and Bay Area.
Norma loved to sing and performed frequently at events and as a contralto soloist at services. She was active in the Bay Area-Houston Symphony League and Bay Area Museum Guild where she was a board member and past president of both organizations.
Above all, Norma loved her friends, family and community wholeheartedly with pleasure. She was not only a matriarch and best friend to her family but to many others as well. Norma effortlessly regarded people with importance and made them feel special.
She is proceeded into eternal life by many wonderful family members including: husbands Ted Hays and Aubrey Brady, brothers Jim and Skip Lurwick, sister-in-law Ellen Lurwick, daughter Sue Brady, son Ron Hays and great grandson Brady Nomura. She was exceedingly proud of those mentioned above and of those she has left behind: daughter Barbara Nash, son in law T.C. Nash, nieces Donna Trigg and Jennifer Goodwin, nephew Jeff Lurwick, grandsons Greg Brady, Tracey Hays, and T.J. Hays and granddaughters Becky and Carrie Brady. There are many other in-laws, great grandchildren and extended family who were endeared to her and loved by her equally as much.
Norma was a gift from God and a blessing. Her beautiful smile, eager laugh and warm heart will be greatly missed.
