Michele Lynn Glaser sadly passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, in League City, TX at the age of 75 after giving her best fight against pancreatic cancer. Michele was born on January 25, 1949, in Youngstown, Ohio to Charles and Jacquila Johnson.
Michele grew up in Youngstown, Ohio and enjoyed spending time at Millcreek Park, Idora Park, and taking family vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC and Florida to visit her grandparents. She is a graduate of Ursuline High School in Youngstown, OH and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Arts in English. On April 11, 1970, Michele married her husband, William Powell Glaser, in Youngstown where they began their family together. They later settled in Seabrook, Texas to raise their 2 children, Eric and Ingrid.
Michele dedicated her life to serving the community and her heart belonged to the City of Seabrook where she served in various positions for over 32 years. She retired as the City Secretary of Seabrook in 2015 yet continued to serve on the board and help with elections. Michele was highly regarded as an ambassador and wealth of knowledge for the city long after retirement. Her greatest joy came from seeing her two children become parents of their own and being a grandparent to her four grandkids. Spending time with her family was when she was happiest. She formed wonderful, long-lasting friendships with so many and enjoyed traveling the world, playing cards and dominoes, reading, going to the movies, and having meaningful conversations over shared meals.
Michele will be missed greatly by many and will be remembered for her generosity, unconditional love and support, broad intellect, and thirst for knowledge. Michele, our beloved mom, grandma, and friend, was one of the strongest women we have ever known.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Glaser; and sister, Tamara Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Eric Glaser and wife Amanda; daughter Ingrid Glaser Bernacki and husband Chris; former daughter-in-law Stephanie Glaser and fiancé Ricky Aguilar; grandchildren, Maxwell Glaser, Brooke Bailey, Peyton Glaser, and Ella Bernacki; sister, Holly Johnson; brother-in-law Richard Glaser and wife Linda; nephew, Jason Glaser and wife Ilana; niece, Megan Gilroy and husband Eric; great nephews, TJ and Andy Gilroy; and great niece, Ayda Glaser.
There will be a Celebration of Life at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, TX 77598 on Sunday, December 15, 2024. The family will be greeting guests at 1:00pm with the service beginning at 2:00pm followed by a reception.
