Before the summer of 2024, God tended to His garden and chose to pluck another flower from our family garden. He felt it was time to bring our dear Lois Dean Johnson from her earthly toil to her eternal reward. Tuesday, July 2, 2024, Heaven welcomed a new angel.
In Grimes County the union of Irvin and Maggie Johnson was blessed with a new life in the form of a baby girl, Lois Dean Johnson on October 11, 1931. Lois was fondly referred to as "Auntie" by her close family and friends. She had a lively spirit and was adored by everyone fortunate enough to spend time with her.
Lois was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She was a dedicated employee at Sterling Chemical Plant for many years where she later on retired.
Lois enriched those around her with love, wisdom, and faith. She consistently offered support to others during their challenging moments. A woman of faith, she had a passion for fashion, travel, and cherished moments with her loved ones.
She was raised in church and dedicated her life to the Lord at a very early age. She was a faithful member of Greater Bell Zion Church in Texas City, TX, where she was also a member of the women’s auxiliary.
Lois was preceded in death by her father and mother, Irvin and Maggie Johnson; sister Murtdean Johnson, brother Michael Johnson, nephew Michael Venters, and sister Gladys Johnson.
She also leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Argie Lewis of Texas City, TX; her nieces Mashell Johns of Pearland, and Mell Jacobs (Yurban) of Texas City, TX; great nieces Kenya Dozier (Roderick) of Texas City, TX and Monae Jacobs of Houston, TX; great-great niece Khayla; great-great nephews Kaiden, Roderick “Kam-a-Man” Dozier, Karter, Isaiah, and Klay and a host of cousins, family and friends.
