John Burton Wells, 93, of Bacliff, Texas, passed away July 1, 2018. He was born in Bixby, Oklahoma on November 12, 1924 to Sherman and Edith Booker Wells. John had a career in law enforcement for The Township of Lake Placid, New York. He was also an entrepreneur of several small businesses. John was a member of VFW Post 6378 and The Handyman Club of America and had a passion for bobsledding. John enjoyed being a member of the Lake Placid Olympic Bobsled team.
John is survived by his 5 children Roger Wells, Shirley Boone, Linda Almeida, Karl Wells, and Lesa Wooldridge; 9 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas, 77598 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. and John will be laid to rest at Houston National Cemetery.
