John Clark Rudd Sr.

A visitation for John will be held Monday, August 17, 2020 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Fwy, Webster, TX 77598. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Forest Park East Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 1:15 PM on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial DR, Houston, TX 77038.

John graduated from Roosevelt high school in 1972. He ran track and held several records in the 440 high hurdles. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1974. After the Army he received scholarships from Pasadena City College and then from the University of Houston. He continued to run track and was invited to try out for the 1976 Olympics. He resided in Houston, Texas for 45 years and worked as a machinist in the oil and gas industry.

John was preceded in death by his loving mother, Beatrice Rudd and father, John A. Rudd.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 40 years, Deborah Rudd and three children John C. Rudd, Jr., David C. Rudd (Erin), and Dominick J. Rudd all of Houston, TX. His brother Dennis Rudd (Maddie), sister Lauren Rudd, grandson Miles Coltrane Rudd, aunt Pat Farmer, uncle James Rudd, special cousins Letha Poole, Alice Reid, David Farmer and Robert Rudd Jr., along with a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

John was a friendly person who would talk to anybody. He loved science and telling corny jokes to make you smile. He led a blessed life and we will miss him and love him forever.
