Jerry Allen Gill

Jerry Allen Gill of Spring, Texas, was born October 28, 1933 to Henry Everett and Nevah Haven Gill in Bristow, Oklahoma. Jerry peacefully passed from this earth on February 22, 2022 at the age of 88. Jerry was the youngest of eight children. The Gill family moved to Houston when Jerry was 12 years old. Jerry graduated from Milby High School in 1953, he was the captain of his high school football team.

Jerry was bright, confident, and driven to succeed. He enlisted in the Texas Air National Guard in 1953 and was honorably discharged November of 1956. He served his country with pride. Jerry started working in the oil and gas industry in 1955, then quickly found himself climbing the ranks in Varco International. Jerry secured his position as Vice President of Varco International with his meticulous leadership skills, his impeccable work ethic, and his ability to handle decision making with ease. Jerry’s successful career took him and his wife, Billie, all over the world several times. Jerry retired from Varco International in 1999. He thoroughly enjoyed his career and touched countless lives. Jerry made sure he gave all the glory of his success in life to God.

Jerry delighted in his three beautiful daughters, Janie, Heather, and Susan, from his first marriage. Jerry met and married the love of his life and soul mate, Billie Ivey, in 1968. Their two sons, Phillip and Damon, completed their family of seven. Together they built a happy life filled with respect and honesty. Jerry was a wonderful father and role model to his five children, loving and guiding each of them well into their adult lives. Jerry loved family above all else in this world, always supporting each of them in everything they did and every dream they had.

Jerry and his wife Billie, were dedicated members of the North Oaks Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. His smiling face and charming personality could be found in church every Sunday they were in town. Jerry loved and believed in the Lord, and is in his final home with Jesus in Heaven.

Jerry loved life, he was an avid hunter, and he loved to spend time with family and friends at the deer lease he managed. He was kind and always loved a good laugh. Jerry also liked to lightheartedly pick on his family. He was affectionately known as Papa by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry will always be remembered as the best listener and advisor. His willingness to comfort and help will be greatly missed.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Henry Everett and Nevah Haven Gill; brothers, Raymond, Clifford, Robert, John, and Donald Gill; sisters, Ruth Alyea, and Betty Williams; and oldest daughter, Janie Gill Cook.

Jerry will be deeply missed by his wife, Billie, of over 53 years; daughter, Heather and husband Darren and their son Warren Kaiser; daughter, Susan and husband Gary and their children Amber, Clint, and Cody and wife Kennedy Hamilton; son Phillip and his children Grace and Trevor Gill; son, Damon and his daughter Nevah Haven Gill; and granddaughter, Amber and husband Chris and their children Madelyn and Morgan Benson. Jerry will also be missed by many beloved nephews, nieces, and in-laws.

A visitation for Jerry will be held Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home in Webster, Texas with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. and a committal service at Forest Park East Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Edwin Plair, Morgan Benson, Cody Hamilton, Chris Benson, Stuart Nunlaey, Trevor Gill and honorary pallbearer Phil Gill.
