Jeanette Byers joined our Heavenly Father on Saturday January 29, 2011. She was at her home in Houston, Texas when God called her home. Jeanette was born in St. Charles, Missouri on July 22, 1946. She was the daughter of Albert & Viola Wiesehan. On December 6, 1979, she married her husband and lifelong companion, Lossie F. Byers in Bridgeton, Missouri. They renewed their vows aboard the SS Independence on December 8, 1999. Jeanette graduated from Pattonville High School in Maryland Heights, Missouri in 1963. She has lived in Missouri, Illinois, and Oklahoma and spent the last 19 years of her life in Texas. She graduated from Court Reporting School in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a Federal Court Reporter and had worked in Galveston and Houston, as well as freelance. After over 35 years of Court Reporting, Jeanette was in her final year expecting retirement in July of 2011. She was a former member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Nassau Bay, Texas. She later joined Lakeside Lutheran Church of League City, TX. Jeanette loved many things, some of the most notable were traveling with her husband of 31 years, Lossie, spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren and being with family and friends. Jeanette is survived by her husband Lossie of Houston, Texas; her son Jason and wife, Krystal Byers of Pearland, Texas; her stepson Dory Byers of Alvin, Texas; four granddaughters Aurora, Hannah, Kaitlyn & Jadyn; her sister Shirley & husband Pat Holmes of Sebring, Florida, and her yellow Labrador, Lady. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert & Viola Wiesehan.
Visitation for family and friends at Forest Park East Funeral Home Chapel is on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Her funeral services are to be held on Thursday, February 3, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Chapel with interment to follow. Rev. James E. Fowler will officiate. Jim Cawood, Tom Bernhagen, Gary Bonura, John Rao, Tom Elliott and Billy Carrell will serve as pallbearers. A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at Lakeside Lutheran Church, 1101 South FM 270, League City, Texas immediately following.
