Sarah Lanning Lunsford

Sarah Lanning Lunsford, age 73, of Waynesville, NC passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021. Sarah was born in Haywood County on October 1, 1948 to the late Melvin and Elizabeth Lanning.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Harold Lanning, Ardith Wyatt, Ella Mae Stevenson, Glenn Bumgarner, Alma Mitchell, and John Henry Bumgarner.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, James "Jim" Lunsford; son, Ricky (Lori ) Lunsford; daughter, Teresa (Carl) McMurray; grandsons, Matthew McMurray and Jason Ray; great grandchildren, Alex and Weston; sisters, Romaine (Sam Gaddis) Wilson and Lillie (Lester) Lanning; brothers, Kenneth (Patsy) Lanning and Albert (Jean) Lanning.

Funeral services for Sarah will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at Garrett Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Tuesday prior to the service from 12 PM to 2 PM at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Garrett Hillcrest Cemetery.
