Myrna Jean Finger Sutton

Myrna Jean Finger Sutton, age 88, of Maggie Valley, NC passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at her residence. Jean was born in Haywood County on July 29, 1935, to the late Rufus and Della Nelson Finger. She enjoyed cooking, feeding her family and friends Sunday dinner, working in her flowers, gardening, and going to Florida to work in the orange groves. Most of all, Jean loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She and her husband, Ed owned and operated Ed's Motel. Jean was a faithful member of Victory Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband Ed Sutton; sisters, Agnus Green and Inez Green.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Connie Sutton; grandsons, Dustin(Whitney) and Dillan Davis; granddaughter, Cierra George; and great-grandchildren, Abel and Elee Davis.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, July 31 in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Jerry Nelson and the Reverend Millard Grant officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jean will be remembered as a fine, loving, Christian woman with a kind soul. She was "nanny" to everyone.
