John Howard Sheehan

Maggie Valley-John Howard Sheehan, 69 passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. John was born in Haywood County on August 10, 1952, to the late James and Gertrude Setzer Sheehan. He was an avid bear hunter and also loved to travel. John was a firefighter for over 20 years, a member of Haywood County Rescue Squad for over 20 years and a paramedic for over 15 years. He was also a construction worker and was always ready to teach others the trade. John never knew a stranger and had a laugh that was bigger than life.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Anderson Sheehan; brother, Doug Sheehan; and sister, Shirley Moody.

John is survived by his son Cameron Sheehan; daughter, Carrie Sheehan; grandson, Clayton Sheehan; sister, Debra Sutton; and special nephew, Jason Moody.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 12, at Victory Baptist Church with the Reverend Jerry Nelson and the Reverend David Reeves officiating.
