Irene Jane Justice Hill

Irene Jane Justice Hill, 94, passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at the Smoky Mountain Rehab in Waynesville. Irene was born in Haywood County on October 17, 1926, to the late Bill and Lela Parks. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing, and time with her family. She had close ties with her church (Ratcliff Cove Baptist Church) and her special friends at Tuscola High School cafeteria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Hill in 1998. In addition, she was also preceded in death by three sisters, Doshua, Bobbie, and Lizzie; and four brothers, Ernest, Jack, Kenneth and Jerry.

Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Seagraves (Lamar) and her son, Michael Hill (Sheree), all of Waynesville; sisters, Judy Mathews (Harold) of Canton, Hilda Ewart and Grovene Presnell both of Waynesville and grandchildren, Anthony Seagraves (Kari) of Waynesville, Brittany Crisp (Isaac) and Wesley Hill of Candler and six great grandchildren.

A graveside service and Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Green Hill Cemetery. The Reverend Tracy Smith will officiate. Mrs. Hill will lie in state from 10:15 until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 11, 2021 at Garrett Funeral Home in Waynesville.
