Waynesville-Eleanor James Justice, 86 passed away on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab. Eleanor was born in Haywood County on August 19, 1935, to the late Jesse and Connie Burnette James. She always enjoyed sewing, gardening, and especially playing with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Ed Justice; brothers, Walter and Ed James; and sisters, Margaret Boone, Kitten Francis and Linda Brown.
Left to cherish her memory are one son, Roger Justice (Brenda); two daughters, Cindy Warren (Sam) and Pam Kervin (Mike); grandchildren, Callie Rogers (Luke), Will Warren and Emily Locker (Jonathon), Jessica Sluder (Chris), and Caleb Justice; and great-grandchildren Elly, Jayce, James Rogers and Fallon Locker.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 14, at Riverside Baptist Church with the Reverend Steve Frazier and the Reverend John Swanger, III officiating. The family will have a private family gathering with the burial to follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The family would like to offer a special word of thanks to Haywood Lodge, her home for five years, for all their love and care. She loved all of you dearly. The family would also like to thank the staff and nurses at Autumn Care for their love, care and support during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite children's charity because of Eleanor's love and service to children.
