Donna Kay (Gunter) Fernandez

Waynesville-Donna Gunter Fernandez, 56 died on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Donna was born in Haywood County on November 21, 1963, to the late Thomas and Barbara Cagle Gunter. She enjoyed traveling and working in her arts and crafts, especially quilting and crocheting. Donna’s family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved her fur babies, Audi, Hemi, Shelby, and Sunny.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sister Kimberly Gunter.

Donna is survived by her sons, James Lawrence, Matthew Moore, Dakota Carver, and Quentin Fernandez; her daughter, Ashley Moore; her sister, Sherri Gunter; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 27, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Robert Stiles officiating. Burial will follow at Plott Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, June 26, at the funeral home.
