Charles "Chuck" Burr Way Jr.

Charles "Chuck" Burr Way Jr., age 68, of Waynesville, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Chuck was the son of the late Charles Burr Way, Sr. and Mary Ann Massie Way. He enjoyed motorcycle riding and working, but most of all Chuck enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Chuck was a graduate of Wofford College and served his community as a police officer with the Waynesville Police Department, retiring as a lieutenant after 34 years of service. He also worked with the Haywood County Sheriff's Office.

In addition to his mother, Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Cindy Green Way; sisters, Linda Way Manes (Harry) and Harriett Way; brother-in-law, Shane Green; sister-in-law, Janet Green; and nieces Abigail Green and Sarah DeRose.

A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 23, in the chapel of Garrett Funerals and Cremations with the Reverend Rob Blackburn officiating. There will not be a visitation. A private inurnment will be held at Green Hill Cemetery.
