Mrs. Brown was born on October 2, 1943 in Middletown, and at a young age, moved to Rocky Hill, Connecticut and was a daughter of the late William David and Ella Mae (Green) Smedick. Sherron graduated from Rocky Hill High School class of 1962, and Middlesex community College in 1992 with an associate’s degree. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Arborio Corporation in Connecticut, and for Genicom and most recently Banta Books in Harrisonburg. She attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Waynesboro. Sherron enjoyed reading books, taking rides on the Skyline Drive and doing Sudoku and Crossword Puzzles.
On May 13, 1995 she married Donald Walter Brown Jr., who survives.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Brown is survived by her children, James J. Dalenta jr., Kimberly A. McCarthy and husband Kenyatta, both of Waynesboro; siblings, Margaret “Peggy” Bogus of Rocky Hill, CT, Pamela S. Houston and husband Brian of Brewer, Maine, Dr. William D. Smedick, Jr., and wife Carolyn of Manchester, Maryland; three grandchildren, Darryl A. James Jr., Davon L. Dalenta, Laila R. Dalenta; and her lifelong best friend Laura Gett.
She was also preceded in death by a brother in law, Thomas Bogus, and her beloved dog, “Murphy Brown”.
A Mass of the Resurrection will take place at a later date at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
