Rosemary Melanie Bitterman Schriver passed on to her eternal home on December 21, 2024. Rosemary was born on March 16, 1943 in San Francisco, CA to Frank Bitterman and Mary Smith. Rosemary had two siblings John and Frank Bitterman, who she loved dearly. Rosemary’s Father was an officer in the Navy, so her family moved frequently when she was growing up. Eventually, her family put down roots in Corvallis, OR.
Rosemary met Barry Schriver during his Air Force service on the West Coast and they later married. She was blessed with five children and they made their home in Waynesboro, VA where Barry received a job offer from GE. Rosemary was a member of Glovier Memorial United Methodist Church and attended for over 50 years. She loved her church family very much. And as an active member of her church she enjoyed helping to prepare church meals, singing in the choir, teaching during vacation bible school, and many other church functions.
Rosemary made friends quickly wherever she went through her contagious smile and positive attitude. Throughout her life and especially in her later years, she was part of many organizations, including Bridge Club, where she hosted extravagant card games at her home. Rosemary also loved gardening, beach vacations, spending time with her neighbors, and taking care of her many beloved pets over the years (most recently Marcie).
Rosemary was preceded in death by her three sons, David, Jon, and Jeremy Schriver. Rosemary is survived by two daughters Sherrie Jenkins (Ronnie) and Carrie Marie Schriver. Rosemary has seven grandchildren: Rory Jergenson (Logan), Seth Jergenson (Madeline), Hana Rose Jergenson, Benjamin Schrepfer (Joseph Morales), EmmaKatewood Jenkins, Kipp Bowman, and Julianna Jenkins. Rosemary also has four great grandchildren: Carson Baacke, Kinsleigh Jergenson, Vana Baacke, and Zoey Rose Jergenson.

A graveside service will be on held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Riverview Cemetery, 420 Rosser Ave., Waynesboro.
