Mary Lucille (Brown) Gibson

Mary Lucille (Brown) Gibson, 72, of Waynesboro, passed away on Saturday December 31, 2022 at her residence. Mrs. Gibson was born on August 8, 1950 in Waynesboro, and was a daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Willie Leone (McGann) Brown. Mary retired after many years working for the United States Government. Most recently, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Social Security Administration. She enjoyed listening to music and dancing. In her younger days, she also liked following the Beatles. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Linwood Gibson, Jr., on April 10, 2021. Mrs. Gibson is survived by her daughters, Angel Gibson Shipp and husband Joshua of Grottoes, Rose Gibson of Waynesboro, Crystal Wood of Waynesboro; siblings, Frances Jane Bauler of Waynesboro, Andrew Brown of Greenville; sister in law, Doris Hutchinson of Charlottesville; and her grandchildren, Livia Jewel Wood, Earl Linwood Gibson, III, Talys Alden Wood, Dacian Flyn Shipp and Zola Lucille Shipp. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Brown, Danny Brown; and a sister, Linda Brown.
