She was born September 23, 1943 in Norton, Virginia, a daughter of the late Rev. Wade H., Sr. and Mary P. (Slone) Powers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Collins; son, William “Bill” Collins; grandson, Alexander Teasley and numerous siblings.
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Benton, Mary Christine Herring; grandchildren, Courtney Lee and her husband Joshua, Nathan Collins and his wife Miranda, Charles Teasley, Wesley Herring; great grandchildren, Marley Teasley and Sofie Collins.
She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Tammy Collins.
A memorial service will be held at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 with Pastor Paul Pingle officiating.
A private family burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
