William Raymond McKinnie

William Raymond McKinnie, age 76, of Southgate, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Born on July 11, 1948, William led a life distinguished by his commitment to his family, his country, and his community.

William proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1968 until 1969. His service was a testament to his dedication and patriotism, and he carried the values he learned during his time in the Army throughout his life.

He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, and his cherished siblings, Diane and Arlene. William was a devoted father to Laurie (Pat) White, Pamela Stribrny, and Patricia (Jerry) Hager. His legacy also lives on through his beloved grandchildren, Ryne, Gage, Devin, and Autumn.

William is preceded in death by his parents, Arlisle and William McKinnie; first wife, Sandy; and his siblings, Dan, Doris, and James. He is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who will miss his warmth, kindness, and unwavering support.

William’s family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Harry J. Will Funeral Home, 34567 Michigan Avenue, Wayne, Michigan 48184. The family will continue visitation at the funeral home on the morning of Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 9:30 am until the time of the Funeral Service at 10:00 am. William will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, Michigan 48442, on Thursday with a Military Honors Ceremony beginning at 2:00 pm.
