Edward Patino was born in Sugarland, Texas on February 1, 1929 to Antonio and Maria Patino. He was one of six children. Edward passed away peacefully in his Westland, Michigan home on March 30, 2020 with his family by his side at the age of 91.
Edward was the beloved husband of Anna for 68 wonderful years. He was the loving father of Edward (Joyce) Patino, Barbara Kennedy, and Debra (Dan) Rowley. Dear “Papa” of Donald McClung, Teresa (Charles) Spiess, Edward Patino III, and Barbara McClung. Great Papa of Erin McClung, Conner McClung, Jessica Spiess, Shelby Spiess, and Hunter Brown. Cherished ‘“Pops” or “Poppy” to countless nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Edward is survived by his sister Maria Alice Rabago and his brother John Patino. Predeceased by his parents, and three siblings, Amado Patino, Anthony (Arlene) Patino and Ricardo Patino.
Edward was a proud United States Air Force Veteran who served during the Korean war. He had a successful career at Detroit Edison as an Electrician and ultimately the Edison Monroe County office Manager serving the community until his retirement after 38 years of service.
Edward was an avid golfer and bowler. He loved to read and watch Westerns. Edward was a vivid storyteller who loved sharing stories from his life.
Edward touched the lives of many with his generous heart. He was a genuine, kind and jovial man who treated everyone as family. His smile was unmistakable and his laughter contagious. Edward simply loved being a husband, father, Papa, and friend. He will be deeply missed by everyone who was blessed enough to have him in their lives.
Edwards’s family will celebrate his life at a later date.
