Clayton Paul Jackson II, age 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, June 25, 2022. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Elda Jackson; daughter, Amanda (Justin) Brandt; grandchildren Clayton Paul Jackson III, Landen, Hunter, and Isabella Brandt; many other family members and friends.
Clayton was a graduate of Wayland High School (1966), Ferris State University, and Western University, where he received a master’s degree in Industrial Arts. Clayton served as a shop class and CAD/drafting high school teacher at Wayland High School for 35 years. He joined the National Guard in 1970, retiring as Sgt. First Class after 20 years of service. In school, he was known as the “Gentleman Farmer." His happy place was on a tractor and out in the fields. The highlight of Clayton’s life was the birth of his beloved daughter, Amanda. He was a dedicated and enthusiastic father and grandfather. Throughout his years as a teacher, he made a lasting impact on his students (“his kids”), going above and beyond the call of duty to them all. His generous spirit will be remembered by many.
Visitation with Clayton’s family and friends will be held 4- 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, 312 N. Main St. Wayland.
