Jeannine was born in Augusta on March 7, 1934, the daughter of Medora Marie Rose (Gosselin) Caron and Donat Joseph Alphonse Caron. She attended schools in Augusta, graduating from St. Augustine Catholic School with the Class of 1949.
On July 2, 1960, Jeannine married Clermont Richard Veilleux of Quebec, Canada. They lived in Augusta, where they raised four children.
Jeannine was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and served with the Ladies of St. Anne for over 20 years. She was also a member of the church choir.
Jeannine was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies’ Auxiliary for 26 years from 1977 through 2003, serving as a Trustee and Chaplain.
Jeannine was a stay-at-home Mom, and after her husband Clermont passed away, she was employed with the State of Maine Bureau of General Services as a custodian, where she worked for 13 years, from 1981 through 1994, at which point she retired.
In 1992 she met John Baptist Bard, and they were married late in life on May 29, 1993. John was an angel sent from heaven to be with Jeannine, and he embraced her family as his own.
Jeannine enjoyed singing, dancing, crocheting, spending time with her cat Tami, and most of all socializing with people. She had a passion for people and enjoyed making them laugh. Jeannine was a kind, caring and generous person, and she welcomed everyone she met into her home, her heart, and her life. She found the good in everyone, and anyone who visited her home was always welcomed with a warm smile and a hug. Once she met someone, she opened her heart, and she was a committed friend for life.
Jeannine is survived by her four children: daughter Monique and son-in-law Daniel Gilbert of Oakland, son Raymond and daughter-in-law Angela Veilleux of Chelsea, daughter Jeanne and son-in-law David Gilbert of Chelsea, and son Ronald and daughter-in-law Tina Veilleux of Augusta. She is also survived by her sister Theresa and husband Laurier (Joe) Brunelle of Augusta, her six grandchildren Matthew, Joshua and Sasha Gilbert and Andrew, Sarah and Jarren Veilleux, and her four great grandchildren Bryce, Lexi Rose, and Riley Lessard and Autumn Veilleux, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
