Winslow - It was a beautiful autumn day with family by my side, I took my final journey. Even though Parkinson’s had taken over my body for the last 16 years, I managed to sustain my quick wit, and never ending sense of humor, keeping those that cared for me on their toes and a big smile on their face. My heart was full to the end by all the love and care I received, especially from my son, Mark and niece, Lori, who I always introduced, as the daughter I never had.
As many of you know cooking was my passion and I was blessed to do what I love, not only for the Winslow school system for 35 +years but for friends and family. So please remember me coming to your door with a pie and cookies in hand, and a big smile on my face. And when the flowers bloom in the spring know that I have begun a new life in the garden with the Angels.
Born to a family of eleven children in Van Buren to Edmund and Albertine Bourgoin, maybe that is why I loved to cook. I also enjoyed playing cribbage with my family, and going to the casinos. I was a member of the Winslow VFW, and loved to play beano. I was predeceased by my parents, husband Burt Gould, brother Ed Bourgoin, sisters Charlene Poulin, Jackie and her husband Jim Tardiff, sister-in-law Nancy Bourgoin, and nephew Michael Bourgoin.
I am survived by my sons: Mark Gould of Winslow; Jeff & Patty Gould, grandson Benjamin and wife Crystal Gould, granddaughter Natasha Gould and five great-grandchildren all from Omaha Nebraska. Also my sister Pat Gurney and her husband Ed of Winslow, brothers Gene Bourgoin of Clinton, Ray Bourgoin and wife Carlene, Joe "Cowboy" Bourgoin and wife Carol of Waterville, Ronald Bourgoin and wife Rachel of Winslow, David Bourgoin and wife Denise, Donald Bourgoin and wife Libby of Clinton, brother-in-law, Fran Poulin of Waterville, a very special niece, Lori Hawk and her husband Al of China, sisters-in-law Ana Gould of TX, Ida Gould, Mary Vigue, Ellie Gould all of Waterville and many nieces and nephews that all hold a special place in my heart.
The family would like to thank the staff of Glenridge long term nursing facility in Augusta for the wonderful care. Dee received lots of TLC from all of you! Activities Karen, Brandi and staff, thank you for playing cards, bowling, and letting her be the sorter of STUFF and to TJ and the dining staff for always making her meals perfect, with a diet coke and dessert (which she always ate first).
