Helen E. Gauquie

Helen E. Gauquie of Blooming Grove, NY entered into rest on August 24, 2014. She was 96. Helen was born in Blooming Grove, NY on November 2, 1917 to Victor and Anastasia (Ghladka) Lasser. She was the widow of William J. Gauquie. Helen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great-grandmother. She worked as a Postal Clerk in Salisbury Mills for 37 years retiring at age 86. Helen was a farmer’s wife for 25 years as well as worked in the school Cafeteria in Washingtonville CSD for many years. She was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. Helen is survived by her son, John J. and his wife Marcia Gauquie of Wappinger’s Falls, NY; Daughter, Theresa Gauquie and her partner Audrey Abatemarco of NYC, NY; son-in-law, Ronald Felter of South Carolina; Grandchildren, Gail Felter Boo and her husband Martin, Lee Felter and his wife Doris, Carol Ann Felter, Jef Felter, William Gauquie and his fiancé Melissa and Kiva Patten and his wife Dana; 10 great grandchildren and several great great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Daughter, Alice Felter, Son, William Gauquie, Daughter-in-law, Sandra Gauquie, Sisters, Sophie Conklin, Antionette Matuseski, Frances Wontz and Jessie Rogulski and Brother, Frank Lasser. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug 26, 2014 from 4-8pm at David T. Ferguson Funeral Home, Washingtonville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, August 27, 11am at St. Mary’s Church, Washingtonville, NY. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Washingtonville.
