Norma Gloria Tomasi Bossi, devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, died on September 26, 2022. Norma is survived by her children, Marcelo Augusto Bossi, Silvia Mariana Bossi Taylor, and Marina Andrea Bossi Bibawi, and her grandchildren Oliver Ruben Taylor, Elena Sofia Bibawi, Sebastian Kieran Taylor, Celine Alexandra Bibawi, and Sanaeya Kaela Bossi. Norma’s beloved husband, Ruben Mario Bossi, died on February 8, 1995 and was always in her heart. Norma was a loving mother-in-law to her children’s spouses, Emad Lotfi Bibawi, Abraham Shawne Taylor, and Meher Dalal Bossi.
Norma and Ruben were married on November 10, 1965 and came to the United States from their home of Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1974, accompanied by Marcelo and Silvia; Marina was born one year later. Norma and Ruben shared a deep love of opera and classical music and were avid patrons of the Kennedy Center. Norma was devoted to organizations that upheld her Argentinean roots and values, and was active in the Alianza Ibero-Americana, where she was a board member and newsletter editor; the Argentinean School of Washington, DC, where she was a board member; the Interamerican Development Bank Family Association; and the Comisión Esperanza Damas Argentinas (CEDA). She was an avid reader and loved nothing more than hosting family and friends with homemade cooking.
Norma’s greatest passions were her children and their families, and they were at the center of her life. She was adored by all of them and will be missed beyond measure. Mami/Abuelita, we love you to the end of the world and to the end of the rainbow.
