Me and latrell met at Kennedy rec center which we played ball together Nd later became freinds because my grandpa knew his grandad which after practice we would get a ride from them when we had to catch the train.

Latrell was a nice person even though we was competing against each other at practice but after practice we would have fun as we walk to the train station with our grandparents especially during the winter where it would snow we used to have snowball fights and talk about our dreams growing up which once he told me he wanted to be in the nba when he grow up and provide for his family since then we would really compete in practice for that caption spot even during the summer until one day we got the bad news LLBAM💔

Latrell Played football and basketball with me. Me and Latrell shared a lot laughs.He was funny , athletic , smart and he was loved by everyone who knew him. To be going into the new year without him hurts me 💔

Latrell was in my class in the 5th grade. We shared many smiles and laughs together, he was like my brother. He was athletic, funny, and extremely intelligent. I miss him now, in the 8th grade, and my prayers go out to his family. 

I never really knew Latrell that well, but I always saw him as charismatic and outgoing. My condolences to his family and friends. 

Latrell has taught me so much and we were such close friends. I wish we had more time to speak and socialize. he was as kind as kind its self.

I just heard the news about this, and it was very shocking. I had just seen him at the Rubik's cube competition. Latrell was a really good friend. He was in Rubik's cube club with me, and he was always energetic and happy. He was always the happiest kid in cube club, and he always had that smile on his face. I will miss Latrell very much. I can only imagine how awful this must be for his family, and I offer my deepest condolences

Very heartbroken to hear this... I'm so very sorry.  Latrell and my son, Graham, went to Basis together.  They also knew each other from Jelleff Boys and Girls Club.  It was very comforting for my son to see a familiar face at a preliminary visit to Basis.  Latrell also attended Graham's birthday party last November.  I can still hear his voice when asking me something saying "Ms. Donnie." I hope there's some peace and comfort near for you.

Latrell was a good friend, he was very nice and helped me through the school year, and I will miss him next year at basis.

 I have listened to stories about Latrell, since my daughter's first day of school at Basis. He was intelligent, athletic, humorous, honest, empathetic, and confident. Latrell was a phenomenal young man.  He brought joy to all he encountered. Skye said the most valuable lesson learned from Latrell was to always have high expectations in all you do because it's possible. She is blessed to experience such a wonderful friendship. Latrell will always live in our hearts and prayers. My family extends our deepest  condolences.

I never really knew Latrell Martin but he was always so nice to me. He was also one of the smartest kids in the 5th Grade. I know that I and many others will never forget him. Rest in peace

This is Margot Kennedy from Basis. Your son was a great person he sat one row in front of me in math. I would always time his rubic cubes and when I used them, I would always mess it up. He taught me so much during school and I'm so sad that the last day of school was the last day I will see him

My heart is broken....I'm crying while writing this message.  My name is Deborah Smith and my daughter Amanda Smith (who was in the same class at Basis with Latrell) just found out about his passing and is devastated.  I heard about Latrell on daily basis from Amanda and her friends, how great of a person he was.  He was always very polite and always smiled.  I remember him saying "have a great summer Amanda" the day they came back from the school camping trip. I pray that his beautiful soul will rest in peace and God will give your family the strength to heal.  I'm so sorry for your loss and cannot imagine what you are going through.  Please accept our deepest condolence.

I'm sorry for your loss.I did not know him well, but he was a nice boy,Samuel Rowe. This is Samuels mum my deepest sympathy, i am sorry for your loss,i was devastated hearing of your loss. Nobody knows what you are going through, i can only imagine, may the Good lord comfort you and your family.

My family knew Latrell only briefly, but he made a strong and lasting impression on us during that short time. My son Roscoe played on his team for Latrell's first season of baseball. I chatted with his grandfather during one of Latrell's first practices and he told me all about his grandson's love of football and how he now wanted to learn to play baseball. Even though Latrell was older than the other kids on his team they all loved him for being so friendly and eager to play with them, and looked up to him because they could tell he was serious about the game and was determined to be a good player. Roscoe just saw him a few weeks ago at the Banneker City event in June and ran to me afterwards saying Mom I just saw Bam and he said Hi to me and remembered my name. That meant a lot to him and he always spoke of Latrell with admiration and affection. We are so deeply sorry to hear of his passing and send you our sincerest condolences.

I am  devastated by the loss of my favorite lifetime bestie. I spoke to Latrell daily about everything to smile and laugh. He treated me like family, understanding when I was 'grrr' grumpy, and checking on me to make sure I was always okay. I always believed we would be lifetime friends and get old together...but God wanted his greatest angel home. I am abroad and won't return until the 23rd of July, but Latrell's family please know, I cared about Latrell and loved him very much. Everyday I know for sure I have an angel still watching over me. It's been difficult to the bear the news of my friend and musically buddy, Latrell. I want to remember him the same way that I met him. Hi my name is Maya I'm masons sister I am so sorry to hear the loss of your son. I didn't know Latrell very well but of the good things my brother had said about him tells me that he had a beautiful personality and that he showed us how to live life to the fullest and smile. My brother and him were pretty much Musical.ly buddies always doing duets together, I watched the ones they did together and Latrell smiled in each and every Musical.ly. He was taken way too soon from us, I wish I got to know him as well as my brother did. I'm literally crying right now while I'm righting this message but I wanted to say my goodbyes and everything. I was so lucky to be able to work with Latrell during his time at Hyde-Addison. He was an amazing boy--smart, sweet, funny and loving. He was always respectful and was such a consistently hardworking student. I am heartbroken--as we all are--at this loss, and send my love to his family. I am visiting family out of town this week and unable to attend the service today, but my thoughts are with you all.

Grilled Cheese will Never, Ever be the same.  
DH My heart is broken for me but more for you.  I promise I'm here for anything you may need me to do. 
My bond with Bam didn't grow in a manner that others could see, from that first sandwich he knew the love I put in the grilled cheese. 
Bam said I made the best grilled cheese in the world, guess that puts all you others to shame.
