Eileen Dorothy Abbott

Eileen Dorothy Abbott, age 99, of Providence, Rhode Island passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024 with her family by her side. Born in London England she was the daughter of the late George and Edith ( Jarvis ) Cockle. She was the beloved WWII bride of David Abbott, Jr., they were married for 30 years. They settled in Rhode Island to raise their 3 children, David " Ricky " Abbott and his wife Donna, Dianne S. Gaynor and her late husband Bill and the late Darrell K. Abbott, Sr. Her adoring grandchildren, Dawn S. Pinkham and her fiance' Delo Rapose, Shannon E. Gaynor and her fiance' Ryan Murphy, Darrell K. Abbott, Jr., and his wife Robin, Tara Costa, Tracey Colanduano, David M. Abbott and his wife Karen and Jeffrey J. Abbott. She was the cherished Nana of 12 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Abbott also leaves her daughter in law Donna Abbott and best friend Thelma Evans with whom she resided when the war was erupting in England. Eileen was grandmother of the late William Gaynor, Jr., and Erick Abbott, great grandmother of the late Joshua Pinkham.

Mrs. Abbott had worked at Ronnie Jewelry before joining A.T. Cross in the desk set department working there for 12 years before her retirement. She was a volunteer at Roger Williams Home Care and The Lillian Feinstein Senior Center. Eileen devoted her life to her children and grandchildren never having a bad word to say of anyone, she was loved by many.

Visitation will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Russell J Boyle and Son Funeral Homes, 142 Centerville Rd., Warwick, RI followed by her Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
