Nancy A. (Zorra) Brimmer, age 85, of Riverside, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved significant other of the late George A. Gibbons for the past twenty-seven years.
Born in Providence, she was the daughter to the late John and Alice (St. Ours) Zorra, she had lived in Warren before moving to Riverside over thirty years ago.
Nancy was a caregiver working with adults with special needs for many years before retiring. An avid reader, she enjoyed crocheting, crafting and antiquing. Nancy grew up on a farm, with livestock, where she learned how to grow, preserve and can fruit and vegetables. She had a love for gardening and often donated food to those in need.
She is survived by six children, Shirley Comerford of N. Attleboro, Robert Brimmer and his wife Ann of North Dighton, Linda Russo and her husband Angelo of Warren, Richard Brimmer and his husband Robert Cloutier of Warwick, David Brimmer and his wife Maria of Warren and Diane Ducharme and her husband Dennis of Foster; one brother, John Zorra, Jr. and his wife Maria of Swansea; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was the mother-in-law of the late Peter Comerford.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, December 23, 2024 from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main St., Warren, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM in St. Mary of The Bay Church, 645 Main St. Warren. Burial will follow in St. Mary of The Bay Cemetery, Warren.
