Wayne Mac Walker

Wayne M. Walker, age 61 of Warren, died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at the Battle Creek Health System facility in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was born May 12, 1949 in Port Huron, the son of Lawrence and Betty (nee: Albertson) Walker. With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to Wayne for his service to our country during the Vietnam War in the United States Air Force. Assigned as an Air Cargo Specialist, he attained the rank of Sargaent and earned multiple medals for his efforts and achievements. For the call to duty he so proudly served, we honor his sacrifice and patriotism. Wayne was employed as a Machine Builder in the automotive industry where he extended many dedicated years of service utilizing the skills of his hands. Yet his skills and talents extended far beyond the workplace as he was renown for being the ultimate "Handyman" away from the job as well. He was always tinkering & puttering around, eager to put his knowledge and hands to work with the expertise he possessed. Whether it was building or fixing something, Wayne was equipped with more tools than the mind could fathom,...and he knew how to use them all. He loved working on projects, perhaps the most profound being the two tractors he built on his own. And when it came to helping others, he was always just a request away and happy to assist. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed a bit of sports with his favorites being the games of hockey and football. When it came to his Red Wings and Lions, he was one of their biggest fans. He also loved spending time with family and friends, creating the memories that he held most dear. And though that reflects on the two-legged loved ones that enveloped his life, there was another very special buddy in his life of the four-legged nature, his adoring beagle, "Bentley." The two of them were the "Best of Buds" and Bentley was devoutly loyal to his master. In fact, Wayne was the only one who Bentley, seemingly, cared for. It truly was a unique & genuine relationship between a Man & his dog. Beloved husband of Judith. Dear father of Shayne (Samantha) Walker. Loving grandfather of Addie, Austin and Asher. Brother Roger (Linda) Walker. Arrangements were entrusted to the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren.
