Terrence Patrick Milne

Born in Detroit, Terrence grew up in Warren where he attended Cousino High School and proudly graduated with the Class of ’71. He soon found employment at the Maple Lane Golf Course in Sterling Heights where his natural abilities were put to work as part of the greens-keeping crew. It didn’t take long for Terrence to settle in, get the lay of the land, and become quite the Jack-of-all-trades for the golf course. In time, he knew how to do everything there and was quite an asset for the owners. Yet more than just knowing, Terrence was always part of the action in some form. He was always working, and was “never not busy.” He was the kind of guy who could never sit still,…some may say, A Boss’ Dream.

Whether Terrence was tinkering around the house or immersed in a side job somewhere, those natural abilities he possessed came shining through in the many building projects he undertook. All he needed were the right tools and some space, and he could give Chip & Joanna Gaines a run for their money. Terrence called it a hobby,…for us, it would have been WORK.

When he found time away from work, you might have often caught him casting his line out in search of the Big One. With all the waters that surround us, Terrence was always in seventh heaven when it came time to picking a favorite option. The lake, a river, or simply down at an old fishing hole, it really didn’t matter,…just as long as he was fishin’ somewhere. The other outdoorsy pastime he enjoyed was hunting. Like most guys here in the Mitten, hunting was in his blood. He loved sportin’ his gun and heading out into the woods for a little adventure. He was the familial version of Daniel Boone,…just without the coonskin cap.

But of all the things he enjoyed the most, “Sunday Football” topped the list. When football season came around, there was nothing greater than having everyone over, hangin’ out, and watching the games together. A little  camaraderie, a little competition, and a whole lotta fun was in store each time the Football Fanatics convened.

A selfless, hardworking and passionate man, Terrenece was forever on the lookout for an occasion where he could serve others. The kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back, Terrence was invigorated by a truly unselfish heart. He was also a guy who loved his family and enjoyed each moment in their company. Family meant the world to Terrence and it was in their eyes that he caught a glimpse of forever,…basking in the time he was given on this side of Heaven, and seeing them now as their guardian angel on the other side.

A loving husband, father and grandfather, Terrence leaves a host of wonderful memories to be embraced by those who were blessed to know him. He will be missed beyond expression and loved beyond measure. May he rest in peace.      

Terrence was the beloved husband of Sandra. Dear father of Scott Patrick (Rebecca) Milne, James Patrick (Alex) Milne, and Brett Milne. Loving grandfather of Peyton, Tyler, Haley, Matthew, Tristan, McKenna, James Patrick Jr., and the late Riley. Cherished brother of Barbara Lloyd, Patricia (Don) Secen, Sharon (Todd) Hay, Randy (Lanette) Milne, the late Tim Milne, the late Gerry Milne, and the late James “Jim” Milne.

Visitation for Terrence will be held Monday, July 6th from 2-9 pm, with a 7:30 pm Scripture Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. His Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 7th at the funeral home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Fr. Tom Slowinski.
