Stephen Norris Matlock, age 55 of Warren, died suddenly Monday, February 27, 2006 at Detroit Receiving Hospital in Detroit. Mr. Matlock was born July 31, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Gilbert "Kenny" Matlock and the late Linda (nee: Norris) Matlock. Mr. Matlock is the loving father of Lisa Matlock, Stephen Jr. (Anna) Matlock, and Kevin Matlock. Also surviving is his sister Carol (Ted) Miller. Mr. Matlock was a life-long resident of Center Line and Warren. He graduated Center Line High School Class of 1968. After High School he volunteered himself into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He served his wartime duty in Germany. After his service to his country he worked as a tool maker for a local tool manufacturer and then went to work for Leaseway Car Transport and Cassens Car Hauling Companies, where he was currently employed for over 20 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #299. When Mr. Matlock was not working he enjoyed his Corvette, hunting, and fishing. His favorite pastime was spending time with his children. Every Sunday Mr. Matlock would cook dinner for his children at his home. His children will remember their father as a wonderful loving person who was generous to a fault, donating to many charities. Visitation for Mr. Matlock will be Thursday from 5-9 pm and Friday from 2-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile). Funeral Services will be Saturday 10:00 am at Funeral Home. Officiating the funeral will be Rev. Jerry Weinzierl. Please share memories of Mr. Matlock at his guest book.
