Born in Detroit to the late William and Louise Sullivan, Neil stayed active his entire life both with spending time with the people he loved and doing the things he loved most. Neil worked at White Tower Laundry until retirement after 40 years. Neil excelled at anything he tried. He was a member of a multitude of baseball and bowling leagues, competed in many golf tournaments, and was horseshoeing champion. Most people would say that Neil had a knack for sports, but his talents came from the joy he had playing sports. As his son Steve was growing up, Neil proudly coached his baseball league. As time went on the family got involved together playing on many mixed bowling leagues among other various teams. When the family would go up to their home in Caseville, Michigan, Neil enjoyed swimming and water skiing. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many, Neil will be dearly missed by all who survive him.
Beloved husband of Janet (“Joann”) for 65 years. Loving dad of Steve (Lori) Sullivan. Cherished papa of Paige, Nicole, and the late Jeffrey. Dear brother of Patricia, and the late Shirley, William (Dolores “Dodie”), Janet, and Joan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation Monday, February 26th from 2pm until 8pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Road in Warren. Neil will lie in state Tuesday, February 27th from 10am until time of Funeral Service at 11am at Bethany Baptist Church, 19700 15 Mile Rd, Clinton Twp, MI 48035. Burial to take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
