Joan Rose Roberts

Joan Rose Roberts, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on July 11, 2024, at the age of 88. Born on November 14, 1935, to parents Raymond and Helen (Switzkowski) Barthelemy in Kokomo, Indiana. Her life, filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories, will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Joan was a woman of many passions and joys, including gardening. Her love for gardening was evident in the vibrant colors and blooms that decorated her home throughout the seasons. Tending to her garden brought her immense joy and peace, nurturing both her flowers and her soul.

Joan also had an innate sense of style and enjoyed dressing up for outings with family and friends. Whether it was a special occasion or a casual gathering, she exuded grace and charm, making every night out exciting and one to remember. Her presence added a touch of warmth and sophistication to any gathering.

A collector of porcelain china dolls, Joan appreciated the beauty and delicacy of each piece in her collection. Her dolls were a reflection of her appreciation for artistry and her love for preserving treasured valuables.

Above all, Joan valued time spent with her family above everything else. Her children, grandchildren, and other family members brought her immeasurable happiness and fulfillment. Her unconditional love and unwavering support created a strong bond that will endure beyond her lifetime. Celebrating holidays held a special place in Joan's heart because she got to be alongside family and friends. She cherished the traditions of gathering with family, creating festive atmospheres filled with love and laughter. Her joy in these moments was infectious, creating memories for all who were fortunate to celebrate alongside her.

Beloved wife of the late Raymond James Roberts; dear mother of Renee Ann (the late Michael) Parent; cherished grandmother of Bradley Michael Parent; adored sister of Lorraine (Gary) Fryer, Karen (Bob) Bunce, and Arlene (Marlin) Jurkowski; loving aunt and great aunt to many. Preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Helen Barthelemy, her son Keith Gerald Roberts, and her sister Theresse (the late Dave) Jakubowski. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Joan Rose Roberts leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire and comfort those who were touched by her kindness and grace. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the beauty of the gardens she tended and the love of those she held dear.

Visitation for Joan will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, located at 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, Michigan 48093. Funeral Service for Joan will take place at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, also at the funeral home.
