Joan's journey through life was beautifully intertwined with the love story she shared with her beloved husband, Richard. Together, they built a life filled with 58 years of cherished memories, laughter, and unwavering commitment until Richard's passing in 1999. Their love was a testament to enduring devotion and partnership along with raising their children: Karen, Jane, Alan, Janice, Patrick, Patricia, Martin, and Gary.
Family meant the world to Joan, especially coming from a family of 11 siblings. A devoted grandmother of 22 and great-grandmother of 9, Joan found immense joy in the presence of children. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with love, wisdom, and countless stories of her own life's adventures. Joan's vibrant spirit and magnetic personality made her the heart and soul of every gathering she attended. Whether surrounded by family or friends, she effortlessly captivated those around her with her warmth, humor, and genuine interest in the lives of others.
Among Joan's many passions, few brought her as much delight as the simple pleasures of shopping excursions and trips up north, particularly to Port Sanilac. These moments allowed her to indulge in her love for exploration, relaxation, and creating cherished memories with her loved ones.
Joan's legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories will forever live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a zest for life that will continue to inspire generations to come.
