I remember Uncle Carmen as such a nice man , very kind with the biggest smile.  He had such a deep love for Aunt Sug and his sons David, Dwayne & Gary and his grandchildren.  He is now reunited with Gramma Rose, Grandpa Bruno, and his loving sisters Carmella and our beautiful Mom , Giovanna (Jenny). Our Mom loved talking to her baby brother and our Dad & Mom loved going to lunch & dinner with Uncle Carmen & Aunt Sug.  My heartfelt condolences, you are all in my thoughts & prayers.

Your Dad was a Kind and soft spoken Soul God Bless his him and my thoughts and prayers go out to the Family.


My deepest condolences to my Uncle Carmen's family.  I remember him as a very kind, patient and friendly man.  I know he was very talented, and liked to work on his own home improvement projects.  My Mom would gush over her baby brother, and loved to talk about how smart and talented he was.
I could tell he was a very family oriented man.  I so enjoy seeing all the photographs my Aunt Sug posts on Facebook of the big family get togethers, on Holidays and special occassions.  Take solice in knowing Carmen will still be there in his favorite spot, right there with all of you.

The first time I saw Carmen was at Olson Beach where 9 Mile Road ended at Jefferson.   Lots of East Detroit kids, especially those too young to drive, took the 9 mile bus to Jefferson and walked to  the beach.  Every sunny  summer day that one had about 40 cents and a clean towel was spent there.  
Carmen wasn’t like the other boisterous  junior high boys at the beach;  he was respectful and polite….there was no chance he’d be the boy who dunked the girls!  
He was the same nice person as an adult and husband to my friend Sug.  We spent many Sundays playing golf with the Alampi’s as well as several trips to beautiful golf destinations.
Carmen was an accomplished woodworker, an artisan really, and a fine gardener.  Most of all, he was Sug’s true love and a good family man.      


I met Carmen just over 15 years ago.  In fact, on March 22, 2007, he walked into our physical therapy clinic and said he wanted to work with me. Not for physical therapy, just to get in shape. His sister-in-law, Katherine, had referred him to me.  So, I pushed him and he worked very hard.  Over the years, we had great conversations about his being Italian, golf, politics, food, and more golf.  He had many stories of his sons and family that he cherished.  One of my favorites that he loved to tell was when he went to see his newborn baby and the nurse said "those two are yours".  That is how he found out he and Sug had twins.  His grandkids were his pride and joy.  I loved hearing all their of stories. Even towards the end, every time I saw him, he told me that he was from Reggio Calabria, a Calabrese! and that his wife was an all A student.  Carmen always told me how lucky he was to have Sug as his wife and he was always proud of how smart she is and how she took care of the family. He adored her.  I am honored to have had the privilege to get to know him and Sug.  If everyone could have a relationship like they had, the world would be a better place. RIP sweet Carmen. 

I remember when Uncle Carmen and Aunt Sug would baby sit my brother and me. We would have so much fun playing games and laughing together. ( I think I had a crush on him). At Granny’s , I’d wait for him to come so I could sit on his lap and talk away. He’d always politely listen  with his shy, but big grin. I’d melt away in his arms.  I’ll always remember his smile and warmth.
