Carmen was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. He graduated from East Detroit High in 1956. This is where Carmen met his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Rosemary. The two tied the knot in August of 1958, and had spent nearly 64 wonderful years together, raising three children and eventually several grandchildren. Carmen and Rosemary enjoyed traveling together, going to places such as Italy, Hawaii, the Bahamas, and many golf trips throughout Michigan. Carmen worked as a construction superintendent until his retirement in 2000. He was also a proficient carpenter until he was no longer able to do so. A master of his craft, Carmen would start from scratch and build his work from the ground up. All throughout the year, even in the cold of winter, Carmen always had a project he was working on. In his leisure time, Carmen would spend time taking care of his yard, enjoying a round of golf, attending a Broadway show at the Fisher Theater, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. Carmen will be missed immensely and loved eternally by his family and friends.
Carmen was the beloved husband of Rosemary. Loving father of David (Mary Ellen), Dwayne (Jeronima), and Gary (Mary Catherine) Alampi. Devoted grandfather of Emily (Christopher Proch) Alampi, Molly (Matthew Penridge) Alampi, Neil Alampi, Scott (Myrna Medina Mares) Alampi, Steve (Leslie Yuquilima) Alampi, Dominic Alampi, and Anthony Alampi.
