"Squeekie" entered this world on July 19, 1947, the eight of fifteen children born to William Allen and Lillian Thomas Bynum of Wilkesboro, NC.. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: William "Bucky" Allen Bynum,Jr., James Preston, Arnold "Butch" Thomas, Terry Scott,and David Andrew,and six sisters: Lillian Marie, Toni Annette,Vera Campbell, Althea"Miggie" Bowers, Elsie "LC" Sharon Cowles, and Levonia "Cookie" Barber. Following her graduation from Lincoln Heights High School in 1965, she married her high school sweetheart,Richard "RL" Alexander, Jr.. To this union was born three sons,who remain to cherish her life's memories: Richard Lonnie Alexander,III of Charleston, SC, David Christopher, and James William of Mechanicsville, MD., and a "daughter-neice", Sydney J. Campbell of Washington, DC . "Squeekie" enjoyed housekeeping and baking and did both for private clients and the United
Brotherhood of Teamsters in Washington, DC until her retirement in 2007.She not only hand a "green thumb", but arguably "green hands", as she cultivated gorgeous plants, indoors and outdoors, and displayed her crafting talent creating beautiful floral displays. Her baking skills were equally treasured by all who tasted the luscious cakes that she sold at craft fairs and the Leonard Town "Market". She was united in marriage to Thomas O. Davidson on October 24,1998 and several years thereafter, to the present,has been the "Nana-caregiver" to her granddaughters, Angel and Mikayla Alexander. Having received Jesus as her personal savior in 1977, "Squeekie" has had a longjoumey of trust and reliance on the Lord, through the personal challenges of her life, including her recent illnesses. She has "fought the good fight, finished her course and kept the faith". She is survived by her sister, Candace Currence of Mitchellville, MD, two brothers, Monty B. Bynum,Sr. of Bronx, NY, Bynum B. Bynum ofN. Wilkesboro, NC; daughters-in-law: Crystal Alexander,Cynthia Alexander, and Beth Goddard;son-in-law, Roger Leon Thompson:her "nephewson", Dwayne A. McGee:grandchildren: Shante, Marcus, Amber and Mya McGee;Johnathon and
Victoria Thompson, David "DJ" Alexander, Tiffany and Akira Alexander,Damien and Devon Malloy and Dustin Alexander; great-grandchildren, Zakiyra Goode and Gregory Sanders,aunts:Hyla B. Cundiff of Greensboro, NC, and Libby Jones of New York City,NY and a host of nieces and nephews around
the country and admiring friends. The family will receive guests at Huntt Funeral Home in Waldorf from 5-8PM on Tuesday, May 31,2016. The celebration of her life service will be held at 12 noon on June, 1,2016 at Calvary Gospel Church, 11150 Berry Road, Waldorf, MD 20601 ,with interment immediately following at Heritage Memorial Cemetery,13472 Poplar Rd., Waldorf, MD 20601.
