Joseph Jay Robinson

at the age of 66. Robi was raised in Silver Spring, MD but spent many weekends and summers

at the farm in Brandywine, MD. As he grew up, Robi was centered around Grace Church Young

People Fellowship. Robi graduated from Springbrook High School and was a part of the class of

1973.

In 1974, Robi committed to serving his country by joining the United States Air Force. During his

time in the Air Force, Robi was able to see the world and was stationed in places like Okinawa,

Japan, Thailand, Tyndall AFB in Florida, Denver, CO, and then retired out of Edwards AFB in

California. Robi was an instructor of Avionics and LOVED serving his country. In 1994, after

serving 20 years in the United States Air Force, Robi retired as a Technical Sergeant.

Following retirement, Robi moved back to the family farm in Brandywine, MD. He had many

hobbies which included horseback riding, hunting, fishing, restoring his boat, and gathering with

his friends and family. Robi was preceded in death by both of his parents, Jay Pittman Robinson

and Nita Cleaver Robinson. He is survived by his son, Lance Robinson (Merrill, WI) and his

sister Linda Robinson Ellerton, and her husband David (Annapolis, MD).

A service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church (4535 Piney

Church Road, Waldorf, MD 20602). A graveside service will be held at 11am with a gathering for

family and friends to follow at the farm.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Robi’s name to the following

organizations: St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s

Research, or to the Alzheimer’s Association for Alzheimer’s research
